My career in fashion abruptly started two years ago when I won the By Kids For Kids Signature Style Contest, Sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger. In addition to $10,000 in prize money, I was also flown to New York to tour Tommy Hilfiger's studio and to meet him.
I was encouraged by his staff to pursue a career in fashion. Who knew my doodles on photoshop would become winning designs!
I immediately incorporated my skills with graphic design and fashion to create my website, Retro Modern. (rmfashiondesign.com) Praised by Tommy himself, I was confident my website would gain the attention it deserved, and in time it has!
Since the opening of my website I've had many opportunities to showcase my work. I recently participated in AI's Rock the Runway, and I'm now working with Victor Victoria to design a jewelry collection for their upcoming fashion show.
I have a shop on my website, Etsy and do part-time freelance fashion/jewelry design.
I'm excited to see what other opportunities will come around!
